Geocache Description:

A Multi set to give you a little information on the local area in days gone by.
The foundation stone for the Nantawarra Wesleyan Methodist Church was laid to the glory of God by W. Young in July 1888 (The church was later re-located 2km’s North East of the original site).
The listed coordinates take you to the original site that now hosts a Cairn. It was unveiled in 1988 by Greg Young, the Great Great Great Grandson of W. Young to commemorate the 100th Anniversary.

There were three Methodist-type churches in Australia in the 1800's, and these three merged to form the Methodist Church of Australasia in the early 1900's.
The Methodist Church of Australasia ceased to exist in 1977 when most of its congregations joined with the many congregations of the Congregational Union of Australia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia to form the Uniting Church in Australia.
There are still some independent Methodist congregations in Australia, including congregations formed or impacted by Tongan immigrants. Some congregations who did not join the Uniting Church in Australia joined the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Australia.

To locate the cache, you will need to find the year the church was relocated and assign ABCD to the four digits. Then simply work out the coordinates from the equation below:

S 34° 00.(D) (C-A) (A+C) E 138 ° 13.(B-A) (C+A) (B-C)
