Geocache Description:

THIS IS CACHE NUMBER 1 OF THE BARNES AREA CACHE HISTORY EVENT, ALSO A STAND ALONE CACHE.

EMILY DAVIS

The Town of Barnes was truely fortunate to have for several years a resident named Emily Davis. Emily and her husband Robert moved here upon their retirement, to his childhood homestead on Henderson Lake. They spent many years together there living out their "Golden Years", feeding the deer. One spring day they were blessed with the sight of not one but twin albino fawns in their yard. They were quickly named Nip and Tuck after the way they darted and ran around each other. Emily and Robert continued to enjoy the antics of these two "Ghostly Creatures" and the word gets out to some of the local news crews from several publications and TV shows, requesting interviews. Their twins were documented on, Venture North (a local nature show from Duluth), WEAU TV, (EauClaire) and several newspapers. Emily's articles have appeared in; Lake Superior Magazine, The Milwaukee Sentinel, and Farm Wife magazine and she was a correspondent for The Country Journal. Luckiest for all of us is the fact that she wrote her memoirs in a book titled, "LIFE WITH NIP AND TUCK"
