This cache is placed at Wynne Park in the city of Mount Vernon, county seat of Lawrence County, Missouri. Every year on the second weekend of October the city celebrates Apple Butter Making Days. Howard Bell Wright was a teacher at Mount Vernon Academy and the most popular writer of the day when he published THE SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS, which made the Branson area famous.
The cache is placed with permission and is near the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce. The hours are: 9am-1pm, 2pm-5pm Monday-Friday.
The cache is small round (mint box), kid friendly, and has room for Geocoins.
Note: to open the cache press in the middle, and to close squeeze the sides.
