This is cache number seven out of ten in a series along the Chautauqua Creek Gorge. It is located in a small Glen on the west side of the creek. Parking is at N 42 18.347 - W 079 34.675. Attached is a map of the area, please print and bring along. Also on the first cache of the series, "Under the Ledge" (GC1VAFV) have attached the cheat sheets for all 10 caches. Print them out to use if needed.
This cache contains the fifth clue (E) for "The Mystery of the French Gold". Please bring a camera. The majority of the walk is easy. On occasion you will have to cross back and forth across the creek. Be sure to bring appropriate clothing and foot wear. Not recommended to do these caches alone, bring a cell phone and leave a copy of the map with someone. Only suggest doing these caches in the summer months and not at night. This can be a dangerous place and is subject to flash flooding. It should take between 3 and 4 hours to complete all caches and return to the parking location. Be careful and use common sense and you should experience a very enjoyable adventure in the greatest natural wonder of the area.
