Geocache Description:


It's time for the TAG Family to get together. If you haven't been to Silver Lake then you are in for a treat. The Silver Lake Recreation Area is part of the Apalachicola National Forest. This particular part of the forest is host to ATV & motorcycle riding. There is also a great section of beach for swimming. You can also bring your kayak or canoe for some relaxing rowing around the lake - no motors allowed. There is a hiking trail around the lake as well. Oh yea, fishing too! This place has been here for as long as I can remember.

When: Saturday, July 18th
Time: 10AM until whenever
Lunch: Eat at Noon
What will we eat? In my opinion it's too hot to cook or even to start up the grill so let's have samiches and chips. Bring what you want to share with the rest of the group. Paper products, plasticware, mayo, mustard, drinks and ice will be provided. I will have a bag of charcoal in my car just in case YOU want to be in charge of the grill.
Door Prizes: Yes, I said Door Prizes. Here's how this is gonna work ... everyone gets one ticket just for showing up. If you bring a muggle you get another ticket. If you bring a cacher who has never been to a TAG event before then you get another ticket and they will get another ticket. If you are the person who has never been to a TAG event before & you came on your own then you get 2 tickets. If you are a TAG member who has been MIA you get an extra ticket. If you join TAG or renew your membership you get an extra ticket. If you have 10 different colors on your toenails you will get an extra ticket. As you can tell I'm very relaxed with the door prize rules and we can make them up as we go along. Now, what are these door prizes you ask? Don't know yet. We're working on it. If you bring something to give away then guess what? You get another ticket!

While July 18th is "Fee-Free Weekend" at most National Parks, this one is not part of that promotion. There is a $3.00 charge per vehicle for a day pass. There is no camping allowed but there are bathrooms and showers (neat history about this buildng will be shared with you and if you are attentive you will get another TICKET!)

So bring your inner-tubes, floats, family and anything or anyone else you can think of for a fun filled day.






07-13-09 Note: Since there is a pitiful sign-up of "will attends" I will order a turkey sandwich ring and bring a loaf of bread, peanut butter and grape jelly. I'll take donations to reimburse me. Ya'll bring some chips and cookies.
