Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This event will be held over 2 days (12th & 13th September) and
will be held in conjunction with the Science Museum at Wroughton's
'Festival of Innovation'.
The event is suitable for all ages & abilities, so please come
and join us!
This event will be available over two days (12 & 13th
September) and will be held in conjunction with the Science Museum
at Wroughton's 'Festival of Innovation' Event.
The event will be open from 10am to 5pm on both days.
You can come on either day and log your attendance for that day but
if you come on both days you can only log it once! It would be
helpful when you log your ‘will attend’ to also indicate which day
you may be coming so we can get an idea of numbers.
The Festival of Innovation is being held in one of the Museum's
WWII vintage hangars, which contains a fascinating collection of
Aircraft, Cars, Motorcyles etc.
Go to the posted co-ordinates, which is D4 Hangar and look for the
Geocaching stand in the smaller Marquee opposite the hangar. We
will be able to meet and chat here.
We will be running Geocaching demonstrations for prospective
cachers to try and find some ‘demonstration’ caches that will be
placed nearby. We’ll need people to take newcomers out and show
them how to use a GPS and find the caches. We’ll also need people
on hand at the stand to answer questions and show people what
geocaching is all about. If anyone is willing to help on either (or
both!) days, please post a note and/or let me know including which
day (or days) you’ll be available.
There will also be an Orienteering group at the event too + other
stands/activities of interest to Geocachers.
Your local reviewer may also be there helping out and on hand to
answer any questions you may have about Geocaching.
Well behaved and under-control dogs are allowed outside the
buildings, but please remove any deposits!
There is a charge for car parking, which is £5.00 per car. If you
decided to park elsewhere and walk to the event, then entrance is
free.
I hope that there may be a few new caches published over the
weekend, to keep you all on your toes! At the time of typing this
out, there are around 160 caches within a 5 mile radius of
Wroughton village.
As updates about the event come to me, I will post them as a note
and update the cache page.
It may be worth 'watching' this event cache, to be notified of
updates.
The original Science Museum event 2 years ago was very popular, so
hopefully this one will be just as good.
As Albert Einstein would have said...
Be there or be E=MC Square!
