A historic walk around Lower and Upper Upnor on roads and footpaths. There are 7 traditional caches of varying sizes nano – regular. A bonus multi cache is also part of the walk.
Parking is available at the end of Lower Upnor Road in a large public car park with toilets nearby.
A map of the area is useful, especially when finding the footpaths.
Length: approx 4 km, approx 2 hrs
Time for refreshment. There are two pubs along the street.
The street has been preserved in a remarkable way.
Interesting things to look out for are:
· The black and white building at the top used to be a butchers shop.
· The difference of buildings on one side of the street from the other.
· On some of the houses you can still see their insurance plaques from when the fire services used to be owned by insurance companies.
· Find the old grocers by looking back along the high street.
Now in the car park you are looking for a 35mm film pot. Please be as stealthy as possible when retrieving this cache.
