Coordinates listed are not where the cache is located nor do they have anything to do with it. Solving entails some logic plus a little trial & error and some pretty basic 9th grade algebra.
Well, the way the story goes, this fellow was camped out one night and he decided to take a little hike so using the stars as a guide he hiked 2 miles due south, then turned and hiked 2 miles due east and at that point he figured he'd got enough exercise so he turned and hiked 2 miles due north to his camp. 6 miles was a pretty good hike and arriving at his campsite he prepared for bed as it was late. Lying in his sleeping bag he noticed a star straight overhead that he remembered his father telling him as a boy that that star was an important one for early navigators. Just as he was about to drift off to sleep, he heard a rustling just a short way off. It was a bear about to attack him, fortunately his gun was handy and he managed to get off a shot, frightening the bear away just before it grabbed him. Years later as a geocacher, he realized that if you attached numerical values to the color of the bear and the name of the star, you could come up with coordinates for a cache that he had just placed. So he did.
Let CNV=color numeric value
let SNV=star numeric value
N cords -CNV=4485.451
w cords -SNV=12158.874
