Geocache Description:

Small Cache Container, Located Top of Patridge Island just off a side Trail

This cache is a Small Container with Log Sheets, Bring Pen or Pencil, also has a few Small Trading Items.

Follow White Hall Road, the Main Street through Parrsboro, go South towards the Ottawa House. Keep to the Right as you go in the Road to Ottawa House down to the Beach where you will find Picnic Tables and Lots of Parking on the Sand Bar. The main Trail is well marked and Starts behind the Cabin at the Base of Partridge Island at the End of the Sand Bar. Cache is Located on the Top of Partridge Island Just off the Main Trail on a second Less Used Side trail. Take the Side Trail off to the Right behind the First resting Bench on your Right as you Head down the Main Trail on the Back Side of the Island. At an Elevation of 280 ft above Low Tide in the Bay of Fundy and 242 ft Above High Water Level. Main Trail is about 1.8km Returned from the Look out Tower and is a good hike from Beach Level to about 230ft on the trail, First 100ft is the Steepest but well worth the Hike. There is a place for Camp Fire, Picnic Table and a Outhouse at the end of the Main Trail at the Lookout Tower, Makes for a great Resting and Lunch area.

There are 2 Other Caches Placed on the Island "Partridge Island" (GC1T47V) & "Rest Spot" (GC1VD68) Where you can get Great Photo’s. Just a Note of Caution……Please stay to the Trails. Beware of the Cliff Edges. East, West and South Sides of the Island have up to 260ft Cliff’s with ongoing under erosion at Bank Edges.

If you decide to take a Walk on the Beach around the Island, Take a Friend, Don't go alone, watch the Rocks as they are Slippery when wet or covered with Seaweed. Do not get to close to the Cliff’s due to Falling Rocks. KNOW the Tide Times as the Tide Rises Very Fast and Rises up the Clift Faces on parts of the Island. You can get a good look at the Height of the Tide if you are there at Low Tide you will see a 30ft Fishing Weir just off the West side of the Island 0n the Beach. At high tide the weir is hardly seen. Be off the back side of the Island at least 2 Hours before tide is due to Rise. If not this is Leaving you to Swim or Climb. If you are there at the Tided Changes you will know there is a 7 to 8 knot Flow with Rip Tides and all 3 sides depending if the Tide is coming in or out. So Swimming is out. And I haven’t seen anyone climb a 280ft Lose Rock Vertical Clift face, So Climbing is out. So Please be off before the Tide Begins to Rise. This is not to scare you off, It is a Beautiful Place and a favorite location for Mineral, Rock and Gem Seekers.

Enjoy Caching and the Beauty of the Bay of Fundy
