Geocache Description:

Location in Ae Forest near other ploughs. You are looking for a magnetic key holder

Cutherberton 'F'' Plough 1949-1979 Wet Soil. The Type F deep peat plough developed in the late 40s before the design modification of the rounded arch. Plough head and beam was raised by wire rope pulled by either a hand winch mounded on the front of the beam or a mechanical winch on the pulling tractor. The great inovation was the ability of this type of plough to maintain a level drain bottom even if the surface was locally very irregular - if the wheels dipped down or up the arch carriage simply slid up or down the vertical pole allowing the plough head to continue on the desired uniform slope angle. Note the heavy metal mould boards at the back to push the ribbon of peat away from the edge of the cut drain. You are looking for a magnetic key holder box
