Geocache Description:

Located on the Pine Mountain Trail. The cache requires a hike of three plus miles round trip. Come prepared to make the hike. The trailhead is five miles of dirt road from the paved road and could require 4x4 during inclement weather but I drove my family car in during this backpacking trip.

Located on the Pine Mountain Trail at Blowing Rock Gap near the location of an old bonded stillhouse which provided "refreshments" for travelers between Ashcamp, Kentucky and Skeetrock, Virginia. The last settlers to live in this location was Glen and Pearl Ratliff who resided here in the 1930's.

The cache container is a 35mm film cannister and contains only a log sheet and a foreign coin for a FTF prize. Located at an elevation of 2727 feet this cache will require a moderate hike in. The trail has eroded in places because of past rains so watch your footing in those locations. The cache was hidden with a thirty foot accuracy but the hint will give you the exact location if you don't want to make the search interesting. Be careful on the trail and be considerate of others by taking care of the trail.
