Der Sportpark Wolfsberg
Der Sportpark Wolfsberg fasst das Stadionbad, das Sportstadion,
die Sporthalle und die Kletterhalle zu einem großen Sportareal
zusammen. Im Folgenden werden die einzelnen Sportstätten kurz
beschrieben:
Stadionbad Wolfsberg:
Das Freibad wurde in den Jahren 1964 bis 1966 von den Gemeinden
Wolfsberg, St. Stefan und Frantschach St. Gertraud erbaut und im
Jahr 1983 saniert. Mit einem Areal von 35 ha gilt es als eines der
schönsten Freibäder in Österreich. Das 5.000 Besucher fassende
Freibad verfügt über 4 beheizte Schwimmbecken, darunter ein 50
Meter Sportbecken, ein Sprungbecken mit 10 m hohen Sprungturm und
ein Nichtschwimmerbecken. Am Nichtschwimmerbecken befindet sich
auch die 70 m lange Wasserrutsche. Für Sportbegeisterte gibt es 2
Beachvolleyballplätze mit Tribüne, einen Ballspielplatz, eine
Minigolfanlage und zahlreiche andere Sportmöglichkeiten. Für das
Kulinarische sorgt ein Restaurant sowie ein Eiskiosk. Das
Stadionbad ist von Mai bis September geöffnet und Austragungsort
für zahlreiche Wettkämpfe wie z.B. Schwimmmeisterschaften.
Sportstadion Wolfsberg:
Das Sportstadion, welches heute auch "Sportzentrum" genannt
wird, befindet sich gleich neben dem Stadionbad. Es wurde im Jahre
1984 erbaut und nach der Fertigstellung im Jahr 1988 mit dem
Olympiaqualifikationsspiel Österreich - Finnland eröffnet. Das
Sportstadion verfügt über ein Hauptfeld und zwei Trainingsfelder -
jeweils mit Flutlicht, zwei Kleinfeldplätze, Leichtathletikanlagen
und ein Allwetterplatz für Sportarten wie Volleyball, Basketball,
Tennis oder Handball. Mit der Sanierung und dem Ausbau des Stadions
im Jahr 2008 haben nun 1.061 Besucher Sitzplätz auf der Tribüne.
Zusätzlich ist Platz für 3.000 weitere Besucher (Stehplätze). Neben
lokalen Leichtathletik-Happenings und Fußballspielen fanden im
Stadion auch größere Events wie die Staatsmeisterschaft in
Leichtathletik, die C-Europameisterschaft in American Football und
das Vorbereitungsspiel der Österreichischen Nationalmanschaft gegen
die Mannschaft aus Ghana statt.
Das "Lavanttal Arena" genannte Veranstaltungszentrum am
Sportstadion bietet Platz für Veranstaltungen wie Seminare,
Parties, Tagungen, Konzerte, Firmenfeiern oder Präsentationen. Auf
einer Nutzfläche von 450 m² ist Platz für 300 bis 500 Personen. Das
Veranstaltungszentrum verfügt über modernste Technik und das
Catering umfasst ein breites Angebot an Speisen und Getränken.
Sporthalle Wolfsberg:
Die Sporthalle ist direkt angrenzend an das Bundesschulzentrum
Wolfsberg und dient auch als Veranstaltungszentrum. So waren z.B.
bereits die Ö3 Comedy Hirten hier zu Gast. Direkt angrenzend an die
Sporthalle wurde das neue Kletterzentrum gebaut.
Kletterzentrum Wolfsberg:
Das
Kletternzentrum
Alpenverein Wolfsberg wurde am 20. Februar 2009 feierlich
eröffnet. Es ist ein Treffpunkt für Kletterer und Bergsportler zum
Trainieren und zum Erfahrungsaustausch. Zusätzlich werden Kurse und
Touren angeboten und das Zentrum verfügt auch über eine kleine
Snackbar.
Der Cache:
Der Cache ist ein Nano-Cache, der unter Tags im Sommer
sicherlich schwieriger aufgrund des hohen Muggelaufkommens zu Heben
sein wird. Beim Öffnen bitte darauf achten, dass nichts rausfällt
und den Cache bitte genauso verstecken, wie ihr ihn gefunden habt.

The Sportpark Wolfsberg
The "Sportpark Wolfsberg" combines the Stadionbad (open air
pool), the Sportstadion (sport stadium), the Sporthalle (gymnasium)
and the Kletterhalle (climbing center) to a large sports area. In
the following the various sports facilities are described in more
detail:
Stadionbad Wolfsberg:
The open air pool was built between 1964 and 1966 from the local
authorities of Wolfsberg, St. Stefan and Frantschach St. Gertraud.
It was renovated in 1983. With a total area of 35 hectare it is one
of the most beautiful open air pools of Austria. It offers space
for 5,000 visitors and contains 4 heated pools, amongst them a 50
meter sports pool, a pool with a 10 m hight diving platform and a
pool for nonswimmer. A 70 m long water slide is located at the
nonswimmer pool. For sports freaks there are 2 beach volleyball
courts with stands, a court for ball games, a miniature golf court
and varios other sports facilities. To satisfy culinary needs there
is a restaurant and an ice cream parlor. The Stadionbad is open
from May to September and many competitions, such as swimming
competitions are held there.
Sportstadion Wolfsberg:
The Sportstadion, also called "Sportzentrum" is located next to
the Stadionbad. It was build in 1984 and opened in 1988 with the
qualification match for the olympic games Austria vs. Finland. The
stadium has a main court and two training courts - each with
floodlight, two smaller fields, facilities for track and field and
a multi-purpose court for sports such as volleyball, basketball,
tennis or handball. Since its renovation in 2008 capacity was
increased to 1,061 seats on the tribune. Additionally there is
space for 3,000 other visitors (stance). Besides local athletic
meetings and soccer games, there have been larger events such as
the national athletics championship, the C-European Championship in
American Football and the preparation game of the Austrian National
Team against the Team from Ghana.
The "Lavanttal Arena" called event venue at the Sportstation
offers room for events such as seminars, parties, congresses,
concerts, company events or presentations. On a floor space of 450
m² there is room for 300 to 500 people. The event venue disposes of
modern technology and the in-house catering offers a variety of
different foods and drinks.
Sporthalle Wolfsberg:
The Sporthalle is connected to the federal school center of
Wolfsberg and is also used as event venue. For example, the famous
Ö3 Comedy Hirten comedy show has been hosted there. Recently the
new climbing center which is also connected to the Sporthalle has
been built.
Kletterzentrum Wolfsberg:
The
Kletterzentrum
Alpenverein Wolfsberg was opened on 20th February 2009. It is
meeting point for climbers and mountain athletes for trainings and
to exchange experiences. Additionnale courses and tours are
offerend and the center also disposes of a snack bar.
The Cache:
The cache is a nano-cache, that might be difficult to find
during the day in summer because of too many muggles. When opening
the container please take care that nothing falls out and please
put the cache back exactly as you found it. Please bring your own
