Geocache Description:

Could be a cache and dash but you really need to stop and take in the history here.

Once upon a time, at the turn of the century, there was a quaint little town along the Mohawk River. Delta, NY, near Rome, is now underwater after Delta Dam was built on the Mohawk River and the town was flooded to make a reservoir, now known as Delta Lake. Though records show that the houses and hotels were disassembled and some even relocated, rumor has it some of the old buildings still exist at the bottom of the lake.

If you are looking at the Dam you are looking over what is left of an aqua duct. Now turn around you and look into the woods. You will see other parts of the aqua duct right behind you and farther into the woods.

This is a popular fishing spot.

Please bring your own pen.

Update Aug 2009 - Camo on this one had to be kicked up a knotch so look good it's there.
