Geocache Description:

This cache is located on Nortonville Road which leads to the site of Nortonville,CA which was one of many coal mining towns that popped up after the gold rush. The low quality coal was used to power the booming city of San Francisco. The town was deserted years age and there is little evidence of it left. There is no access to the town sites from this road. They are in what is now Black Diamonds Regional Park accessible from Sommersville Road off of Highway 4. The cache is located in a logical place and is meant to be an easy find.
