Ever since I first noticed it on a map, Stephenson, VA has always interested me (if you know me well, you can probably figure out why). Although information about the town's founding and namesake have eluded me so far in my research, while looking up information for another nearby cache, I did luck out and discover this interesting site too.

Stephenson's Depot
For this simple multi, you will first need to gather some numbers from the information presented on site and then use those numbers to complete the coordinates for the final, which is tucked just a short distance away.
The posted coordinates lead you to a roadside stop where you will see two Virginia Civil War Trail markers. Although you're highly encouraged to read both signs while stopped here, only information from one sign is used for this cache. Selecting the correct sign to use should be easy (hint: just think about the name of this cache!). Use the information presented on the sign to extract the numbers that are needed to determine the coordinates for the final.
Coordinates for Final:
N 39* A B . C D E
W 078* 0 Z . Y X V
A = First digit of the year mentioned in the first line.
B = Last digit of the year mentioned in the first line.
C = Second digit of the year mentioned in the first line.
D = First digit of the day in June when the Confederates attacked the Federals at Winchester.
E = The number of times the letter "T" appears in either of the Culp brothers' names.
Z = Third digit of the year mentioned in the first line.
Y = How many newly captured cannon did Lee take along when he marched across the Potomac? Add the two digits of this number together to find Y.
X = Number of letters in Lieutenant Colonel Andrews's first name.
V = Number of golden yellow stars that appear on this sign.
The final cache container is a small lock-and-lock tucked away within easy walking distance. If you have small children, be aware that although this does seem to be a fairly quiet road and this cache is still completely appropriate for children, cars can still be encountered, so please keep a close eye on any young ones with you (especially while walking to the final).
1/24 Update: Currently the signs once here have been removed for repair. Until they are restored, the puzzle part of this multi can be solved using the sign image from the Historical Marker Database — https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=41659
