Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of caches that follow a storyline. Each cache may be of different types as the story progresses. This first one is a Letterbox cache. The posted co-ordinates will take you to a parking area in Williams Park, it is from that position that we begin the quest. I ask that you obey the park operating times of 9 am - dusk. Please be sure to leave the stamp in the cache, it is not a trade item.

Prologue:

You have been known by many names through the ages, but for the last 237 years you have been called "Shah'ar Tuur", The Seeker. But you need no name. Names are for the living. You are not alive, you merely exist. You have a purpose, one that has consumed you for eons. You hunt.

At one time you were just another mercenary, trying to fill your belly. But this is different. This chase has been going on for far too long to be considered a job. It is an obsession. Dust has blown across the graves of your employer and 7 generations of his offspring, yet you still chase. Is it honor that drives you or something else?

Episode 1

On your bumpy approach to the drop co-ordinates, you look out through the window of your drop-ship at your new surroundings. Never have you been to a world quite like this. Perhaps your quest will play out differently this time, in a new theatre. There is a feeling of anticipation in you that is unfamiliar. Yes, there is something very special about this place.

Performing an inventory check, you make sure that you have your tracking device as well as miscellaneous other tools. As you exit your vessel you assume the form of the locals to not arouse attention. This form is vastly different from any you have become in the past. You find some of the sensations of the various senses alarming. The human sense of smell is laughable, what was once one of your greatest hunting tools is severely crippled in this form. You will need to rely heavily on your extensive knowledge of your prey.

You head to the nearby structure and go around back, passing a fluid dispensing station as well as nourishment tables. You instinctively know you should decend the wooden staircase, so you do. From the base of the stairs you can see an information structure. You head to this information and quickly assimilate the data from the posted maps. Knowing your prey well, you are confident of the direction that it headed so you cross over the large white bridge.

Before you, you see another bridge. As you approach this bridge, you feel it is unlikely to be the correct direction so instead you head off down the center of the open field opposite a waste disposal unit. As you progress through the open grasslands you notice an old metal post with a wooden box on top. Not too long after this post, where the main path bends, you note a set of steps heading up the nearby hill and a smile crosses your freshly aquired face. What an odd sensation. You know that you are getting close.

After heading up the stairs, you follow the trail along a short ridge. This ridge soon passes a wooden footbridge that you feel you must cross. Even with your poor human sense of smell, you can tell that you are on the correct path. Following this trail further you come to an intersection. You have a flashback to an earlier encounter with your prey, where it lost its right eye.

Knowing that your prey is without an ocular sensor on its right side, you feel that the prey would have headed left, so you do as well. This trail is covered with a hard organic substance, rather than the crushed minerals of the previous trails. After continuing on this trail for a while, you descend around a large group of maple trees, but you know that you are too late. Any feeling of proximity has left you. You find the evidence of your preys visit inside a rotten cedar stump, accessed from part way down the stairs. This is a small consolation for todays hunt. After perusing the cached items, you may choose to take a token, or pehaps leave one. For now the hunt has ended, and you return to your vessel by either retracing your steps or continuing on down the stairs and along the trail. Contemplating your next move is something you are very familiar with. You depart hoping to pick up the trail again soon.

For those that dont want to follow the letterbox directions, you will have to project a waypoint from the posted start point, 283m @156 degrees true.
