The cache location is near to the closest the trail comes to where one of the water sources that will go over the Multnomah Falls starts. The terrain rating is based on starting from the Multnomah Falls Parking lot. The cache can be accessed from many other trail starts.
If you access the cache from the top you might find this a little overrated. You are still in for a fairly decent hike. Plus there is a parking fee. Access from the top is seasonal.
You are looking for a regular ammo can. The GPS'r may not be your friend in these woods. The cache is located around 3100' elevation plus or minus some. To make the journey one with reward and not one that will tear up the forest. I am offering these clues. You should be at a switchback. The cache is East of the trail about 30'. There was no bushwhacking required when the cache was placed. Three GPS's of higher quality were used to get the coords and then averaged. Mine was jumping from 30' to 36' accuracy. To quote a local cacher "May the coords be with you". After finding the cache please hide completely from sight. Try not to make the obvious Geo pile.
