Unpaved road, but not 4-wheel. Accessible in summer and fall only. You do not need to cross the creek.
The Highland Mary mine, active in the late 1870s, was named in commeration of Robert Burns' poems. The location of the cache is near the mine owner's residence (now gone) called the White House because of the classic latticed verandas on 3 sides. The first wedding in the county was held in this house in 1876. Original cache contents include lite-up astro ball, poncho, 'gold' spoon, yellow clip, columbine key chain, and log book. Cache container is a camo covered plastic quart sized jar. Please screw lid on tightly. Thanks. You may lose satillite signal for short periods of time due to mountains on each side, but relax and enjoy surroundings and the signal will return shortly.
