Geocache Description:

Congratulations! This is the sixth and final cache for the CGHT series. You must find the first five caches and get each of the hints to solve this final cache. The above coordinates are for parking only. You must solve the final cache to obtain the coordinates.

To park take the dirt road past the Holy Rosary Church. This road is not ploughed in the winter but you can park at the church and walk from there( a MUCH longer walk).This is a logging road and therefore not maintained. DRIVE AT OWN RISK. Please stay on the hiking trail at all times when approaching the cache to prevent unwanted damage to vegetation or the risk of getting lost. The hike is 1.41 km down the trail from the parking location indicated above

TO SOLVE THE FINAL CACHE:
Cache 1: Take the year the boat was stranded you copied from the plaque. Divide by 1000. Add to the meaningless coordinates below and this will give you the north coordinates. N 45 50 .699 (Check: digital root equals 2 )

West coordinates. W 061 5W.XYZ

A=1, B=5, C=3, D=9, E=2, F=6, G=8, H=7, I=9

CGHT- cache 2- Match the letter you found in cache two with a number in the code above. Put this number in position W in the West coordinates.

CGHT- cache 3- Match the letter you found in cache three with a number in the code above. Put this number in position X for west coordinates.

CGHT- cache 4- Match the letter you found for cache four with a number in the code above. Put this letter in position Y for west coordinates.

CGHT- cache 5- Match the letter you found in cache five with a number in the code above. Put this number in position Z for west coordinates. (Check: digital root equals 9)

The Cape George Hiking Trails provides exceptional scenery with a good mix of challenging and easy trails. The trails are marked and maintained by hard-working volunteers and the North Shore Development Association.

Shannon Burt, of the “trailpeak” website, states the Cape George hiking trail “system is an ambitious project spanning three sections, and networking 33 kms of mainly backcountry style footpaths. Another one of Peter Jackson’s (the creator) signature pieces, a look at the trail map’s topography lines tells you at least two things: First, what a great location for trails. Second, on the whole, this may not be easy, depending on how far you walk in one go. Underline ambitious! I was very impressed with the trail from the get go. I wasn’t sure what to expect, hearing that it was a community trail.”

Finding the caches has taken you on some of the shorter hikes. Though you have seen some of the coastal views on your cache hunts, some of my favourite hikes are longer. I have completed all 33 kms of the trails. (If you rub the 14 letters on the trails as you hike, and complete the entire 33 kms, you get the privilege of having your name entered into an official logbook stating you have completed all 33 kms.) One of my favourite hikes is from I to E. It feels like an old growth forest and reminds me of hiking in New Zealand. Another favourite hike is from TH3 to N. Though this is a long and challenging hike, the views are not to be missed. Some of the wildlife I have seen in the area include: Bald Eagles, Cormorants, Whales, Dolphins, Bears, Deer, Foxes, Rabbits, etc. I hope you have enjoyed the hikes as much as I do and continue to explore them. Happy trails. I would love to see your pictures. Do not forget your camera
