Snake Trail Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

CacheDrone: Today I was contacted by a representative from Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority. In their email they are requesting the archival of this listing and also for the owner of this geocache to promptly remove any remaining physical placements associated. The reason for this request is that the permit for this location expired in 2010, it was not renewed, and also that the container is placed in a location that differs from the original permit. The current location has also been deemed unsuitable for a geocache for ecological reasons.

Please do not seek this geocache for the reasons stated above. Hopefully the owner can remove the container as soon as possible.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a nice easy find in St. John's Conservation Area.

First park. Then walk around the pond until you find the trail marked 1. This trail is known as 'Snake Trail' due to it's abundance of snakes. Not to worry, they are just water snakes coming out from the pond. After or before you find the cache, you may be interested in doing a bit of fishing or catching in the pond. Rainbow Trout are placed in the pond every year but are mostly fished out by late spring. Please limit your prize to two fish or what your fishing permit allows. Whatever is less. In the summer you may be more interested in catching crayfish, frogs, and tadpoles. Enjoy!
