Geocache Description:

At last, the time has arrived for the Bowling Green 2009 fall Geo-event. This event is open to anyone and everyone. It will be held on Sunday, August 30th. in the parking lot of the First Christian Church. 1106 State Street. Bowling Green. The lot is directly across State Street from the Barren River Area Health Department. This is a geocaching event. It is being held at my church's parking lt because there is lots of room for parking and lots of room for tables. Hours for the event are 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.There is no charge to attend the event. Everyone is welcome to attend. All friends and families are welcome, If anyone wants to come early to help set the tables and chairs up they are more than welcome. The second church service ends at noon and the lot usually clears out by 12:15 or 12:30 I will do the smoked ribs thing again. If someone can bring a grill for burgers and hot dogs that would be great. Burgers taste better right off the grill. The rest of the food will be pot luck style. The theme of the event will be “Bring a Friend”. I am trying to get the best turn out ever for a Bowling Green event. If I can pull 30+ people together myself just think what an entire club can do. If the Lost River Cachers all pull together I am sure we can draw a very good crowd. I am sure we all know people who wonder why we go to such extraordinary lengths just to sign a log book. This would be a perfect setting to show the fellowship aspect of the caching community. I can’t explain it but I feel that most of us cachers have come to realize there is a whole lot more to caching than just what goes on in the field. If anybody has any additional ideas for the event I am flexible and there is always room for improvement. Let me hear them. I have managed to get Abraham Sebastian Talbot Crow to commit for another visit. He is a very busy old crow and I would like to thank him for his time. He has attended all of my events so far. If the skies decide to rain we can eat inside there is more than enough room in Carter Hall. I have come up with a STUMP THE CHUMPS game. Rules are on the way to the event hide a (NON-LOGGABLE) devious-evil type cache within a block or two (walking distance) of the event. After every thing is put up we go on a walking tour and try to find them as a group. Maybe vote on and have a prize for the most creative or the most evil. If anyone else has any geo -related game ideas please bring them forward. If any one wants to bring the walkie talkies go ahead. I think the kids have a ball with them and to tell the truth I do also. I think channel 11 seems to be the favorite channel. I will try to hide a few new caches in the Bowling Green area to be published on the weekend of the event. If anyone else would like to hide some for that weekend please feel free to do so. I would like to take this opportunity to thank First Christian Church for the use of their building and parking lot. Please post if you are attending and what you will be bringing. Hope to see everybody at the event.
