Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Bradentown Depot… tickets please.

Originally built as the Atlantic Coastline Railroad Company Passenger and Fright Depot Bradentown, Florida, it was changed to the Bradenton Depot when the "W" was dropped from the town name Bradentown. A major hub for the rail, road and water travel in Southwest Florida, this spot was the heart of shipments arriving and departing from the piers of the Manatee River.

When you reach the listed coordinates you will find yourself standing near the busy traffic of Manatee Avenue and facing a historical marker with a nice lesson in Bradentown Florida history. When you read the info on the sign, you need to find how long the era of significance was for the depot. Take note of this number and use it in the following formula to find the actual hiding spot for this cache.

FINAL - N27 29.(811 + NUMBER) W82 34.(006 + NUMBER)

The final is a short walk from the marker and you can have a look at the renovate depot building during your stroll. The building has been converted into offices so watch for working muggles. And this is a micro so bring your own pen…. and PUH-lease be careful when retrieving and re-hiding the cache so it doesn't go missing.

Enjoy this piece of Bradentown history,
iMPG
