Royal Ascot used to be a racecourse in years gone by. Today it is
just a horse training facility, with all races now run at
Kennilworth and Durbanville. These days modern apartment blocks
houses the young and affluent here. In the middle of this area is a
little hidden away conservation area.
From the parking spot make your way to a small obstacle course
which will grant you entrance to the park. This has been placed
there to keep dogs out of the area, not geocachers. Take a moment
here to read the sign on your left. Walk quietly and keep your ears
alert for the sounds of birds, frogs, crickets and other little
ones that calls this place home.
The cache is placed near a straight where horses are taken
through their paces. The thunder of their hooves makes for an
interesting backdrop beat to your caching experience here. I hope
you enjoy this area as much as I do.
