One of Sunderland's key landmarks, the Queen Alexandra Bridge, celebrated its centenary on Wednesday 10th June 2009.
The bridge, which was designed by Charles A Harrison and built by Sir William Arrol, was officially opened by the Earl of Durham.
The steel bridge was originally constructed with two-decks for both rail and road traffic, though only the road deck is used now.
The cache is hidden on the eastern walkway at the southern end of the bridge and can be retrieved easily once you have spotted it!! There is no danger from traffic on the walkway and it isn't necessary to lean over the bridge to retrieve the cache.
The container is a magnetic keyholder.
Below are the co-ordinates of safe parking on the roadside near to the bridge i.e. on the road which runs down to the quayside on the south eastern side of the bridge.
