Geocache Description:

Climbing - The Eagle Scout Series

This is one of the elective merit badges that a scout can select to complete.

The cache is not at the posted
coordinates.

I hope you like hiking. You will be doing a lot of that during
this series of caches as you work your way toward finding the Eagle
Scout Cache.

Climbing will be a more difficult cache to get. This is because of the placement and the need to climb. You will easily be able to find the tree where the cache is hiding, but the difficulty will be getting up to the cache. You must sign the log in order to claim a find. I don't want any non-climbers (unless you are with someone that does climb up and signs the log). I had originally placed the cache much easier to get to, but then I noticed this nice tree and I have always been one for climbing trees.

To find this cache, find the answers to these questions and then
build the coordinates N 39 58.ABC W 111 41.XYZ

Review the requirements for this merit badge and use the
requirement number for the answers.

A = Which requirement has you correctly put on a commercially made climbing harness (among other choices)?

B = Which requirement has you explain the importance of using verbal signals during every climb and rappel, and while bouldering?

C = Which requirement has you properly coil a rope?

X = Which requirement has you present yourself properly dressed for belaying, climbing, and rappelling?

Y = Which requirement has you demonstrate the verbal signals used by each of the following: a. Climbers; b. Rappellers; c. Belayers; d. Boulderers and their spotters?

Z = Which requirement has you show that you know first aid for and how to prevent injuries or illnesses that could occur during climbing activities, including heat and cold reactions, dehydration, stopped breathing, sprains, abrasions, fractures, rope burns, blisters, snakebite, and insect bites or stings PLUS which requirement has you learn the Leave No Trace principles and Outdoor Code, and explain what they mean?

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.
