Geocache Description:

This was once a mixed farm, established in 1836. by Thomas Stubbs. It was later sold to the Marist Fathers who used the site as a headquarters to charter mission work. Ten years after arriving, the fathers built a Priory. They remained here until 1865, when they moved north to their present location at Villa Maria.

Tarban Creek is one of the few remaining unchannelled streams flowing into the lower Parramatta River. The upper creek has open forest, while further downstream below the weir, mangroves and salt marsh flourish.

The area near Wpt 1 is dog friendly and an off leash area. Dogs are welcome in the rest of the reserve but must be on a leash.

This cache is dedicated to Seizer who owned the original listing. Due to the redevelopment of one of the original waypoints, that cache was archived and this one now replaces it. There is a special FTF prize for the first pooch.
