Geocache Description:


This is another in our series of cemetery hides. Please be sure to drive slowly as you head towards the cache. Also – for those unfamiliar – its one way the entire way – so be sure to initially stay to the right (in other words – follow the road right – not your gps!)

This cemetery is Called Elk Hills Memorial and is a very poplular resting place for locals. It was started across the street from the entrance a bit to the left. If you go there – there is a plaque with the history.

I know of this cemetery because my father-in-law Jim Burdette, my neighbor and friend from church Jeff Holiday, my good friend's papa "Sarge" Aab and a fellow geocacher's folks are buried here.

If you are coming from the interstate (Big Chimney Exit) - Go to the 4 way stop - turn left - and watch left and you will see the entrance to the cemetery (just past the library you will see on the right.) Parking will be about a foot from the hiding spot.

This cache can only be done during daylight hours.
I chose to hide one here so that cachers could see a beautiful spot for a modern cemetery. Very peaceful. My son chose the hiding spot for this one. Please replace the cache just like you found it!

FTF is $2.59 - enough for a gallon of gas on the day the cache was placed at the closest gas station.
