Krn means horn, but the italian name misinterprets the word as Crn (black; "nero"). This is one of the most easily recognizable mountain profile from the west side, and a very popular destination for tracking into the Triglav National Park.
You can start to walk from Planina Kuhinja near Krn village (about 1000m from the sea level, see parking coords) or from Drežnica (longer way: parking coords at about 600m a.s.l.). From both locations you will find a red-white marked footpath that lead you to the large "table" ("lavador" in Friulan, that is a local name of this piece of the mountain), 500m height difference under the top. Continue following the path until the top; the view (if it is clear weather!) is surely rewarding! The longest ascent starts from North near Dom Dr. Klementa Juga.
