Laird Howe's 30th Birthday Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

g1jkb: Looks to have disapppeared following some tree felling. Shame to archive after 11 years, but I no longer have a connection to the area, so it's the best way.

Geocache Description:

A cache hidden to celebrate the eventual coming of age of my Geobuddy, Ghowe1979. The first left in Escrick, near York in North Yorkshire.
Located in a woods owned by the Escrick Park Estate, the cache is in an easily accessible location but requires a little bit of rural exploring to locate. Watch you don't get stung!

Escrick is a pretty estate village, just off the busy A19 between York and Selby.
The small community is still largely an estate village, owned now by the Forbes Adam family, who inherited it from Beilby Lawley in 1920.
The stunning hall in Escrick has been occupied by Queen Margaret's School since 1949.
Queen Margaret's is a large independent boarding and day school for senior girls with an exemplary IT department and diligent house staff.
The village, although small, has a Post Office, a small filling station and convenience store, and an excellent pub (The Black Bull) which serves well-kept beer and good food. Accommodation is also available.
