Cheddar Gorge is the largest gorge in the UK and is on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills. The highest part of the gorge is 113m (371ft) with a near-vertical cliff-face to the south and steep grassy slopes to the north.
In 2005 the gorge was named as the second greatest natural wonder in Britain.
You may wish to visit this cache as part of the National Trust & Cheddar Caves signposted gorge walk (approx 3 miles for the full circular walk).
Suggested starting points are:
i) Cufic Lane opposite the Visitor Information Centre: walk up the lane a short way and then take the permissive path on the right hand side.
ii) Black Rock Gate - follow the Cheddar sign on the left hand side at the second gate as you walk along the drove.
Thank you to the National Trust for granting permission to place this cache on their land.
As we don't want people to walk all the way up here and not be able to find the cache (due to GPS/tree cover) there are TWO SPOILER PHOTOS.
