S.Giovanni
La cache si trova nei pressi della grotta di S.Giovanni, vicino a
Domusnovas. La Grotta di San Giovanni è un eccezionale fenomeno
carsico, lunga 850 metri è una delle più grandi gallerie naturali
d'Europa. Si ritiene si sia formata per un cedimento della enorme
massa calcarea del monte Acqua, ed è l'unico caso in Italia, uno
dei tre al mondo, di cavità naturale interamente percorsa da una
strada. La lunga strada asfaltata che l'attraversa porta alla zona
montana, oggi non è più percorribile dagli automezzi per
preservarne le condizioni ambientali. L'ingresso alla grotta è
libero, non serve illuminazione extra per attraversarla, però è
consigliato averne per illuminare le pareti della grotta. Ai due
ingressi della grotta è possibile arrampicarsi con le funi, le
pareti sono predisposte per questo.
The cache is located near "S. Giovanni" caves, not far from
Domusnovas. The cave is 850 meters long and is one of the largest
natural galleries of Europe. It is said to have been formed by a
collapse of a lump of limestone coming from the "Acqua" mountain
and it is the only case in Italy (one of the three in the world) to
be crossed by a road. The long asphalt road leads to the mountain
area. Today it is prohibited the way of vehicles along the cave to
preserve the natural conditions. The entrance to the cave is free,
you do not need extra light to cross, but it is recommended to have
to illuminate the walls of the cave. At the two entrances to the
