Two stories here. We live on Flagstaff Road in Eustis and the road back of Flagstaff Lake used to also be called (and still is on some maps) Flagstaff Road. So we have many confused people knocking on our door and stopping us on our walks asking "Where is Grand Falls?". One poor fellow was at our door at 10:00 PM, he was supposed to meet friends at the falls and we didn't envy him trying to get there in the dark. And I noticed the last people who asked had a GPS in their car but I didn't know the coordinates for the turn. To make the problem worse, there are many side roads and the wooden or cardboard signs that said Grand Falls, were always being taken. So we were very happy a few weeks ago when we saw a sturdy metal sign that said "Grand Falls Road". So here is one way to get there. If you come in from the north the turn will be on your left. The first sign says "Big Eddy Road", that's the road you're on. And the one just a few feet beyond says "North Flagstaff Road". That's also the road you're on, the road changes it's name here and there to make matters even worse. It later becomes the Long Falls Dam Road . There WAS another sign on top of the North Flagstaff Road sign that pointed to the left and said "Grand Falls Road". It was there a couple of weeks ago, but you guessed it. Someone has ripped that off and taken it home. We drove down that road 3 miles and it was okay but not great and there were more signs that indicated it was another 6 miles to the falls. You used to be able to drive right to the falls but I believe it's gated now 1/2 mile from the end.
Story #2. I don't like nanos mostly because it's so hard to roll the log back up. But I found one I did like at the cache "Sign On the Dotted Line", GC1EYZ3. I asked the owner where he bought it and he didn't, he makes them! And he was even kind enough to send me one. So here it is. And let's hear it for friendly and helpful cachers like this one! But alas, the nano is no more!
