Muckish Mountain

Muckish (Irish: An Mhucais,
meaning "pig's back") is a distinctive flat-topped mountain in the Derryveagh Mountains of Donegal, Ireland. At 666 metres, it is the third-highest peak in the Derryveagh Mountains, with Errigal being the highest. The mountain, with its characteristic outline, is a dominant feature of the north Donegal scenery.
Muckish is also the most northern and second highest of the mountain chain, called the 'Seven Sisters' by locals (Muckish, Crocknalaragagh, Aghla Beg, Ardloughnabrackbaddy, Aghla More, Mackoght (also known as 'little Errigal') and Errigal. The Summit can be approached from two sides, the Southwest side by parking alongside the shrine at the side of the road (See waypont MK001). We began on the North side of the Mountain on the Miners Path in position 55 06.495N 008 00.141W, to find the miners path road drive through Cresslough heading towards Ards, at the graveyard take the left had turn and dive until the road ends at the mountain.

The Glover Highland Walk begins at the Miners path at Muckish taking in the Seven Sisters and  finishes at the car park at Errigal. This cache can be completed as a individual cache or done as part of a series of caches that now cover the route of the Glover Highland Walk.
