Overlooking the town of Danville, this is a gorgeous view that is well worth the short hike from Overlook Dr. The trip down to the site will be a bit challenging, but also think about the return trip with each step down to GZ. Do not park on the driveway (private property); park on the road and walk down to the right of the driveway.
You can see almost the entire town (and neighboring Riverside) with the river flowing in between. This view is one of the best kept secrets in town. If you can ignore a few extra power lines, the sight is spectacular. Stop to notice the churches and the county courthouse that rise up from the view below.
Walk a few feet further downhill, find a path into the edge of the woods, and then head uphill slightly to the coordinates for the easiest path. BYOP.
By the way, Google Maps shows a path for Overlook Dr. that is different from what it appears in the satellite view. I'd trust the satellite if I were you!
This cache was placed for the Welcome Back to Bloomsburg event (GC1N1E2) on August 1, 2009. Congratulations to mountainfolk406 and Stevensons A Searching! for sharing the FTF Prize (a new, unactivated United States version of the Nomad Geocoin from Crake Productions).
