Overlooking the Hess Recreation area, this is a gorgeous view that is well worth the short hike from Overlook Dr. The trip down to the site will be a bit challenging, but also think about the return trip with each step down to GZ.
You can see a slice of the Hess Recreation Area through the brief gap in the trees. You can also see Rt. 54 in an area we locals refer to the "Danville Dead Zone" in honor of that ever vigilant gang of Verizon people who have never been heard to say "can you hear me now" along that stretch of highway. This view is delightful. If you can ignore a few extra power lines, the sight is spectacular.
By the way, Google Maps shows a path for Overlook Dr. that is different from what it appears in the satellite view. I'd trust the satellite if I were you!
This cache was placed for the Welcome Back to Bloomsburg event (GC1N1E2) on August 1, 2009. Congratulations to mountainfolk406 and Stevensons A Searching! for sharing the FTF Prize (a new, unactivated Hogwild Famous Traveling Geocoin).
