Geocache Description:

Cache located in the Cobram Regional Park. Terrain is fairly flat with no climbing or long hiking required. You will however have to walk through some grassy areas.

Cobram Regional Park 1

Thought it was about time that this part of the Cobram riverline got a brand new cache. There will be at least one more in this area, mabe two in the future.

This is set in the Cobram Regional Park about 50 meters from the Murray River in what is a fairly quiet location between Big and Little Tom’s Beaches. During peak time, this area can become very busy, so I have placed the cache between the main camp sites and on a stretch of the river that is very scenic, and is a place I like to go and have lunch sometimes, when I’m working. The view of the river is fantastic (see image gallery).

The Cobram Regional Park is an area of Redgum forest scattered with the odd Yellowbox. The ground is slightly undulating in small hummocks and the entire area is situated the river side of the protective levy bank. Occasionally cattle graze the area, and you may see Kangaroos or Koalas in the area as well.

You should be able to access the area in a 2WD, unless there has been considerable rain, in that case, you will need a vehicle with high clearance or a 4WD. The best way to access this part of the river is from Wondah Street, Cobram (Google map search and you will see what I mean).

Another nearby cache is cdmarks “Build A Bridge” cache also the Victorian side of the border. There are 5 other caches in regional parks on the Barooga (NSW) side of the border as well. All these caches would complete a nice series of finds!!

Initial contents include: Log Book, Pen, Geocaching Information Sheet and some kiddies toys for swaps. The container is a 1 liter Starmaid plastic container.

This is a good cache for the kids to have a hunt for, but watch out for Joe Blakes in the summer time, it is the Aussie bush after all, so parents would be required to accompany just in case.
