A layby just off the old Roman road of Dere Street with some nice views.
Troughend Hall was built in 1758 by Elrington Reed, in the Scots farmhouse style, and stood until 1923. At
one time, there was a pele tower at Troughend (its existence is recorded in 1415) but it disappeared long ago.
Parking is available in the layby next to the cache.
This cache was set out for the Haggis and Penguins Borders Camping Event GC1M455
