Geocache Description:

You've hit the

Because you're in Harmony, in SE MN!

Originally hidden by cacher Fillmore Central (who was named after the school district that Harmony is a part of along with the towns of Preston and Fountain located to the NW of Harmony along US Hwy 52), the Jackpot cache is located in what is now a Harmony park and recreational area.

The building here used to be the Harmony Elementary School in the days of the Harmony Cardinals. Now that Harmony is a part of the Fillmore Central district, this building has since become the city offices location and the town's public library.

The hide will provide you with a short hike that will take you past a neat little park and into an open area that is known for its use as a golfing practice range, and a wonderful spot for exercising dogs and their owners, so be wary of flying golf balls, and friendly dogs!

Not an overly difficult cache to find, but not quite a park and grab either. Harmony is part of the SE MN Amish settlement, a trailhead to the Harmony-Preston Valley bike trail, and Slim's Woodshed - world famous for the world's largest collection of wood carvings (and even woodcarving classes that bring in newbies as well as seasoned veterans from all points of the compass!). Either before or after finding the cache, I hope you'll take some time to enjoy this wonderful little town who's name - according to town legend - came about when town leaders were arguing vehemently over various name options when one of the exasperated leaders stood up and attempted to calm the loud prattle by exclaiming loudly, "LET THERE BE HARMONY HERE!"

And so it was!
