A two-stage search near Rockyview Hospital, this cache offers
great views of Glenmore Reservoir, Heritage Park, and our beloved
Canadian Rockies.
At the posted coordinates, you will find a commemorative marker
with a horizontal metal plate. Enjoy the view, then
carefully count the number of times the letters A,
S, and R appear on that plate. Substitute those three digits into
the following coordinates:
N 50° 59.ASR W 114° 05.876
You can confirm your final coordinates at Geochecker.com. These new coordinates (and some
bushwhacking) will lead you to a nearby camouflaged round lock 'n'
lock container (+/- 3 metres).
Trade whatever you like, but the original theme was lake
critters. It was stocked with 22 goodies, including frogs, turtles,
fish, seashells, a moose T.B., and a homemade FTF card
(congratulations to Neko&Hiiri).
To park, we suggest driving north on 14th Street SW towards
Glenmore Trail. Use the centre lane to get onto the 14th Street
U-Turn. At the bend of the U-Turn, exit and park along the
little-used road (N50 59.770, W114 05.728). A bike path is just
west of you. Walk south on that path over Glenmore Trail and up
towards Rockyview Hospital (where pay parking also is
available).
I'd like to see a nature film where an eagle swoops down and
pulls a fish out of a lake, and then maybe he's flying along, low
to the ground, and the fish pulls a worm out of the ground. Now
that's a documentary.
