This cache is located about a quarter-mile from the south end of the J. Manley Robbins trail (the oldest rail to trail in the country). It's a flat hike (after you get up the first minor grade) and you should take time to enjoy the entire trail that has some benches and a scenic turnout for relaxing and/or enjoying a snack.
Maintained by the Montour Area Recreation Commission (visit link) , the J. Manley Robbins trail is reported to be the oldest "rails to trails" recreational facility in the country. See the history at their website (visit link)
You probably won't see any "tycoons, boneshakers or rebels" along the trail, and you won't need to pay a "membership" or "display your badge" to use the trail (although contributions to the commission's are always cheerfully accepted at their website). If you step just a few feet beyond GZ, you will come to an overlook where you can enjoy a delightful view of the stream below and probably even some wildlife.
Many thanks to the Montour County Recreation Commission for allowing me to create this find. The park is supposedly open only dawn to dusk, but respectful usage after hours doesn't seem to be discouraged.
This cache was placed for the Welcome Back to Bloomsburg event (GC1N1E2) on August 1, 2009. Congratulations to mountainfolk406 and Stevensons A Searching! for sharing the FTF Prize.
