Extreme Boules was a game created by a friend of mine, Mr Anus McB, and myself. It basically was is an extended version of a game of boules where obstacles and different park layouts are used to make the game of boules more interesting.
I will be releasing more caches with information about the game of extreme boules, the rules, different versions and a little of the history for anyone interested.
Whilst out hunting today thought i would adopt a find one, hide one policy. Sadly I went for the Oh No Nano!! Cache down at the civic centre but was unsuccessful due to the high muggle activity in the area. That said I did attempt so only fair to lay a nice new cache.
Brear Park is only a small park but has some personal history. This was the sight of the 21st game out of the 50 game Roberts Cup series which saw the birth of the sport of Extreme Boules back in 2003.
The Roberts Cup was a head to head challenge between Mr McB and myself, aptly named The Roberts Cup as this was the the name of the road that ran between both our houses growing up.
In essence The Roberts Cup was a head to head match, played over 21 ends (as most Extreme Boules Matches are). Each end consisted of the server throwing the Jack out, and each player throwing four boules, one at a time to see whom can get closest. A point is awarded for each boule closest to the jack. The player with the most points after 21 ends is the winner.
Sadly for Mr McB this was not his day as he was defeated 18 to 14, although he did at this point in The Roberts Cup overall standings hold a 13 to 8 game lead.
The cache itself should be an easy find, but please remember to bring a pen as is only a small one. (a nano even).
