GOT
WATER!
I saw a
cache like this in Yakima and wanted to place one in an appropriate
spot. I think I did!
The Hope/East Hope Volunteer Fire Department opened its doors as a
multi-community fire department around 2004
Originally the two Cities had very different fire fighting
structures. Hope had hose boxes and hose at strategic locations
around town and usually near a hydrant. When a fire broke out the
neighbors hooked up hose and doused the fire.
East Hope had a fire engine they must have been around when
Washington crossed the Delaware and it seemed only he knew how to
start and operate it.
Finally after many years of quarreling between the two cities(which
share a common border) they decided to bury the hatchet and combine
some resources, the fire department being one of the first moves to
unify.
Hope and East Hope are both 100-year-old towns, one a former
railroad town and the other a lumber town, now they are mostly
populated by retirees. The cities are still totally separate in
that they have separate leadership, but they at least talk to one
another now.
This cache will be pretty simple
if you were smart and brought some
water with you when you get thirsty.
I find that a ½ gallon is about
the right amount to quench my thirst when I’m searching these types
of caches.
Don’t worry about the firemen and women lurking around. They are
aware of the cache and love to watch us silly people do our thing.
Plenty of parking but be aware that a fire call could occur at a
moment’s notice, causing chaos and turmoil here. There is a bench
to rest on while you're trying to figure this on out.
Please do not help the next person out - and replace exactally as
found. The cache is small and holds a log sheet and writing stick.
OH and make sure you seal it securely, Thanks!
BUT please do not over tighten, if seal bulges, then
it's to tight and will leak!
