Back to the Old Double Locks Traditional Cache
Royal Oak: As the owner has not responded to my previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it. It is not normal to unarchive a cache, which has been archived due to a lack of maintenance.
If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

The 6th of this series of caches was muggled and this is its replacement. It's still placed alongside the St Helens Canal. The oldest Industrial canal in the world. Towpaths and trails can be muddy so I'd advise wellies.
This series of caches are placed to bring you to the St Helens Canal (or Sankey Navigation).
This is a replacement for an offset multicache but is now a new traditional in a new location but nearby.
"In water" two years before the Bridgewater Canal, the St Helens Navigation was built to transport coal and was partly responsible for the growth of all the towns along its length.
You should have parked at the suggested location for Blackbrook Basin behind the Ship Inn on Blackbrook Road (see the waypoint for parking). There is also a Rangers Centre there too that's well worth a visit if you go when it's open.
This area gets overgrown and can be a hangout for kids so be aware of muggles
Sights to see whilst on this stretch; The Locks themselves, although now dismantled, are historical as they were the first of their type in the WORLD!
This container is a mid sized click lock tub that can hold swaps, TB's and Coins
