Geocache Description:

Right off I-44 on RT-66. Quick park and grab with some stealth.

The cache is located at the entrance to the city of Doolittle. The town is named after General James Harold “Jimmy” Doolittle, commander of the Doolittle Raid over Japan in World War II with the United States Army Air Force (pre U.S. Air Force), in which he won the Medal of Honor. In 1946, Lt. General Jimmy Doolittle spoke at the dedication ceremonies in which the town was formally christened in his honor. He flew his own B-25 into nearby Vichy Airport for the event.

The cache is a regular size can that has the usual various swag items and the usual logbook with writing utensils for logging. Cache is large enough for the usual travel bugs and other swag. In keeping with the caches location along Rt-66 some of the starting swag relates to Rt-66.

The cache can be out of circulation a few hours during the Newburg Christmas parade and the Newburg Days parade. Due to some technical problems the cache holding place has not moved in the past few years.

Stealth is require especially on Friday nights due to the large number of patrons but the staff knows about the cache so there should be no problems.

Thanks to Tony for permission to set this cache.
