"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things. Not because they are easy, but because they are hard" John F. Kennedy
This is the second in my series commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the Apollo Moon landings. Oceanus Procellarum was the landing site for Charles "Pete" Conrad and Alan Bean to become the third and fourth men to walk on the Moon.Richard Gordon was the command module pilot.
Oceanus Procellarum means ocean of storms so when looking for a place for this cache Split rock resevoir came to mind due to its tendency to become rather choppy once the winds kick up.This is a boot or boat cache I used my kayak to place this but I'm pretty sure it can be reached via the blue Split rock trail,or Charlottesburg Rd.
First finders prize is the mission patch.
