A small rest area/park located on the south shore of Lake Superior. Easy, drive-up access.
Although listed as a traditional cache, this cache is meant to be a little different than normal.
Aside from the logbook and pencil, it contains ONLY stones.
All the stones are polished, either tumble-polished or cut and polished. Most are beach stones from Lake Superior, many are commercially acquired stones from worldwide locations.
It is to trade POLISHED stones if you have some with you. If not, feel free to take one anyway (for each of your troupe). Please, don't be greedy. The intent is just to trade or give you a "treasure" find in your caching endeavour!
Should you desire to trade, any POLISHED stone is acceptable. Rubies, sapphires, emeralds or diamonds will be gladly accepted!
A (small) Travel Bug or Geocoin is also acceptable, in order to keep them moving/visiting different caches.
Space within the cache container is at a premium.
-------------------------
The cache itself IS NOT VISIBLE! Once you are at ground zero, use your "geo-sense" and the hiding spot should be obvious. Please re-hide as well or better than when you found it.
--------------------------
This "park" is a left-over remnant of the reconstruction/upgrading of Michigan highway M-28 years ago. A unknown person in authority decided to keep this spot as a public access, rather than to deconstruct this small piece of the old roadway. He/she deserves an award!
It is not an official park, therefore it is not maintained by any government or other authority. There are a couple of picnic tables, but no trash receptacles nor call-of-nature facilities.
Any CITO activity on a geocachers part would be greatly appreciated. It is not a messy place, but the occasional passerby does leave stuff behind.
---------------------------
A beautiful spot for resting during travel. Wonderful view of Lake Superior (great for watching the Aurora), super sandy beach that is great for wading/swimming -- if you can stand up to the 54 degree (max) Lake Superior water.
And now, it's a great place to get "stoned"!
