Quick Easy Cache and Dash - LOTS of motor muggles in the winter.
An early post stating no vehicles to the cache site was incorrect. MARKED NUMBERED ROADS are specifically open to road legal vehicles. I have added for clarity a picture of road 45 entrance from CR-122 and road 640 from CR-122. NF road 640 is east of 45. To the left of road 45's entrance is the sign that prohibits off road use of the grassland.
The following stolen right from NFS web page: Welcome to the Pawnee National Grassland!
The Pawnee National Grassland lies 35 miles east of Fort Collins and 25 miles northeast of Greeley in Weld County. Contained within the 30-by-60 mile area are 193,060 acres managed by the Pawnee National Grassland. The rest of the land is a checkerboard of private land, State of Colorado ownership and the Central Plains Experimental Range.
The rest is info:
This is near the site of the main OHV area at the arroyo. No OHV in summer, open 11/1 to 4/9 yearly. In summer you can bike, hike, drive on the road, or hoof it to the cache. East on CR 122 from US 85 and north on NF-45 to NF 640. NF- 640 can also be accessed from CR-122 east of the road 45 entrance. (roughly a big U shape to the arroyo and back to CR122) PLEASE RE-CLOSE ALL THE GATES! You will even have to open a gate to find the cache. Just a small camo container with a log and a minimum of s.w.a.g. Can be muddy at times.
