This is a 4 part multi that follows an old road as it winds up
the Mt. Blue hillside. The road never quite makes it to the
summit, but ends on the west facing slope, where the very
delinquent vehicle pictured above has been parked for at least 50
years.
Parking and trail access is from south of the hill, at the
intersection of School & Mt. Blue Streets. There is room
for one car off road. A hundred feet east on Mt. Blue St. is
the
Stockbridge
Cemetery, an historic Revolutionary War period graveyard.
The first 3 stages are 8oz. juice bottles with orange caps.
The final is a 7x9 lock-n-lock in a camo bag. The cache
theme is model cars & vehicles. The round trip trek is
about 1.5 miles.
Be warned: this road is pretty rough. The first 150 feet are
terrible, with mud & standing water. After that, it
improves from terrible to awful, with ferns and low growth
obscuring the road almost beyond recognition. After the 3rd
stage, the road fades away completely; the final 200 ft is a light
bushwhack.
To make up for the miserable journey, the stages should be easy to
find. The cache is not in the vehicle. Wear your
homberg, spats and bow tie; maybe you can coax the old car to
life.
