Geocache Description:

The relocated cache is a magnetic 35mm film pot that is placed about 10cm (6 inches) above ground level. I think it might be accessible to wheelchair cachers.

The White Hart? The White Hart? Hmmmm!
Now did anything exciting ever happen at the White Hart?

Well, apparently a guy called Thomas Paine and some of his buddies sat in the room above the entrance, called the Sheriff's Room (thanks tiggersabout) and discussed some document or other that was then used by our colonial cousins to the west.

Something about a Declaration of Independence. You can see a full sized copy of the original, in that very room, if you ask the receptionist nicely.

You might even get to see the ghost that haunts the room as well.

Please feel free to add information in your logs regarding Thomas Paine and his work in Lewes and in general regarding the Declaration of Independence that might be of interest to our colonial cousins.

I hope you like the new hint.

[Update: the original magnetic key safe cache location was outside of the Law Courts. You should now be looking for a 35mm film pot, not a magnetic key safe.]
