No, this isn't a showdown at high noon. It's a Geocache gathering
at high noon!.
In the three + years we've been Geocaching, we've met a bunch of
great people from Western North Carolina. We got to thinking, the
great people from East Tennessee and the great people from Western
North Carolina share this wonderful playground we call the
Appalachian Mountains so why not throw an event smack in the middle
of them and get these two regions together for some good eating,
lying (I mean story telling), and fellowship.
At the posted coordinates is a nice little park with a playground
for the kids, a big shelter to gather, caches nearby, and a
horseshoe pit. We'll meet at high noon on September 19th.
Now come on Vol fans, I know that's the big game but do you really
think we have a shot at beating the Gaytors in the swamp!! Besides,
the beating doesn't start until 3:30 and I'm sure WIVK 107.7 comes
in up there.
Now to you Tar Heel fans, remember, it's not basketball season so
who cares!!!
We'll do this potluck style so bring favorite something to eat and
we'll have a big old buffet. Team Geologynut will bring 8 to 10
pounds of good ole East TN BBQ. I'll get some door prizes rounded
up. We may even play some Geo Bingo.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE FROM EAST TENNESSEE OR WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA
